Description

  • Own the availability, incident response, and operational health of PostgreSQL databases across engineering, QA, and production environments.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery processes are tested and functioning.
  • Implement PostgreSQL changes, schema updates, and patches with minimal service interruption.
  • Plan for database growth, perform tuning analysis, and optimize database performance.
  • Review and improve SQL queries, identify deadlocks, and resolve database-related issues.
  • Coordinate schema deployments and database changes with Engineering and DevOps.
  • Support ad hoc query requests from Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Lead data integration projects that centralize data from multiple enterprise systems into a common data pool.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from systems such as Salesforce, Zuora, PostgreSQL, Pendo.io, Freshdesk, and Jira.
  • Partner with Business Operations analysts to define data models, schema designs, and transformations for analytics and business intelligence.
  • Ensure centralized data repositories are clean, consistent, and optimized for analysis.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipeline health and performance.
  • Apply security best practices, least-privilege access, and auditing controls to sensitive database and data operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a DBA.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting SaaS platforms.
  • 4+ years of experience working with automation tools and workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations such as Salesforce and Jira.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency with data modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery or Kestrel.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including Engineering, DevOps, and Business Operations.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with Chef/Terranova, strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in Ruby and/or Python, strongly desired.
  • Experience with Grafana or similar monitoring tools, strongly desired.
  • Background in InfoSec or handling sensitive/restricted data, strongly desired.
  • Experience with Airbyte, Fivetran, or similar data integration platforms, strongly desired.
