Description

  • Design and implement AI behaviors in Unreal Engine using State Trees and Blackboards.
  • Build and iterate on character, camera, and control systems.
  • Integrate AI with the broader game systems to create a fun and engaging living world.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and artists to deliver player-facing features.
  • Mentor and support colleagues by sharing knowledge in your area of expertise.
  • Champion engineering quality across gameplay systems.
  • Help identify and resolve issues as they arise to keep the game performant and polished.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing AI behaviors in Unreal Engine.
  • Interest in character, controls, and camera systems, with experience in a third-person game.
  • Working knowledge of State Trees, Blackboards, Perception, and GAS.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Solid knowledge of C++.
  • Experience identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in UI and gameplay systems.
  • Experience with Unreal Replication is a bonus.
  • Background in co-op or multiplayer character systems, including replication, prediction, and lag compensation, is a bonus.
  • Exposure to AI-driven narrative or social simulation systems is a bonus.
  • Experience with systemic game design, emergent mechanics, simulation-driven worlds, or sandbox titles is a bonus.
