Description

  • Conduct first-round tutor interviews and lead onboarding for new tutors.
  • Train tutors on Teachworks, Lessonspace, Google Drive, session expectations, and delivery standards.
  • Facilitate practice sessions and conduct one-month check-ins for newly hired tutors.
  • Audit 3–5 tutoring sessions weekly to assess structure, engagement, clarity, and effectiveness.
  • Document audit findings, deliver actionable feedback, identify recurring issues, and escalate concerns when needed.
  • Lead retraining sessions and maintain tutor resources and training materials.
  • Serve as the primary contact for tutor questions and manage tutor communications through Slack or Discord.
  • Host weekly or biweekly office hours and periodic tutor check-ins to support engagement and retention.
  • Assist with matching tutors to students and creating SAT/ACT prep plans with the Founder and Operations Coordinator.
  • Collaborate in weekly team stand-ups to review priorities, challenges, and plans.

Requirements

  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Comfort working in a startup-style, evolving environment.
  • Availability for approximately 10–15 hours per week.
  • Primary availability Tuesday through Thursday, 5–8 PM EST, with some scheduling flexibility.
  • Comfort using Google Workspace, Teachworks, Lessonspace, Slack or Discord, and email/messaging tools.
