Description

  • Improve developer experience by speeding up builds, simplifying release flows, and reducing operational toil.
  • Own the CI/CD systems used across the company, from build triggers through artifact distribution.
  • Drive the company’s strategy for release, packaging, and distribution of robot software.
  • Build and maintain tooling, templates, and self-service workflows that enable teams to ship independently.
  • Partner with security, embedded, and ML teams when their needs intersect with shared infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call support for shared infrastructure and help improve reliability practices.
  • Measure and improve infrastructure performance through build times, deployment frequency, and developer productivity.
  • Support the scaling of software delivery processes as Apollo moves toward market deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience operating production infrastructure for a software engineering organization, with meaningful ownership of CI/CD or platform work.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals and confidence working at the systems level, including networking, storage, and processes.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Helm.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major CI system, such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Fluency in Python and Bash for building infrastructure tools and glue code.
  • A GitOps mindset with version-controlled, reviewable, reproducible infrastructure changes.
  • Strong written communication and a habit of documenting decisions.
  • Preferred experience running infrastructure across both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Preferred familiarity with C++ or robotics build systems such as Bazel or CMake.
  • Preferred background in hardware-heavy or robotics environments, including embedded release engineering, ARM cross-compilation, or fleet rollout patterns.
  • Preferred experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or VictoriaMetrics.
  • Preferred experience operating self-hosted infrastructure services such as container registries, artifact stores, or distributed object storage.
  • Travel up to 50% may be required, and international travel is likely; a passport is highly desired.
