Description

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain real-time sensor software for autonomy systems across heterogeneous platforms.
  • Design and implement AI/ML sensor algorithms that interface across different platforms and ingest mission-relevant information.
  • Create software to autonomously control sensors such as EO, IR, acoustics, radar, and RF.
  • Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams to deploy heterogeneous platform swarms in DoD testing and demonstrations.
  • Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and perform computer-in-the-loop testing, profiling, and performance data collection.
  • Work directly with DoD customers to understand use cases, requirements, and triage needs during field events.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with the internal team and help scope ongoing work.
  • Communicate and document progress clearly for both internal coordination and external customer visibility.
  • Drive simulation tooling and post-processing analysis for sensors, platforms, and autonomy.
  • Develop improvement plans for future integration efforts based on simulation analysis and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, Optimization, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with sensor algorithms, hardware, and HIL software integration.
  • Experience with multiple sensor modalities such as EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, and acoustics.
  • Core understanding of sensor physics and sensor control parameters.
  • Experience training and deploying ML algorithms using Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow on integrated systems.
  • Experience with ONNX and C++ models.
  • Familiarity with tracking fundamentals such as Kalman filters and optimal sensor fusion.
  • Experience working comfortably in Linux and Docker.
  • Ability to work with remote software development, large datasets, and minimal supervision.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, typically every 1-2 months for 2-5 days at a time, around 10-20%.
  • Preferred: Proficiency with modern C++ development, CMake, Python, and Bash.
  • Preferred: PhD in computer science or electrical engineering with an AI/ML focus.
  • Preferred: Experience with robotic swarm or multi-agent systems and optimization.
  • Preferred: Strong background in tracking and sensor fusion.
  • Preferred: Current U.S. SECRET security clearance.

  • Base salary range of $140,000 to $220,000 USD annually.
