Description

  • Plan and execute medical congress activities, including abstracts, presentations, booth design and build coordination, and on-site logistics.
  • Develop and execute the scientific communications plan, including publications planning, field medical materials, and manuscript and abstract coordination.
  • Own the strategic scientific communication plan for one or more therapeutic areas or geographies.
  • Manage end-to-end Medical/Legal/Regulatory review of medical communications materials, including routing, comment reconciliation, version control, approvals, and archival.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, and other functions to develop and disseminate scientific content.
  • Manage external agency and medical writing vendor relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and on-time delivery.
  • Contribute to additional scientific communications initiatives as the pipeline and organizational needs evolve.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry or agency experience, including 3+ years specifically in Scientific Communications and/or Publications.
  • Experience in dermatology, respiratory, allergy, or GI therapeutic areas.
  • Hands-on experience with global medical congress execution, including booth planning and design, abstract/poster development, and on-site coordination.
  • Experience in scientific publications management, including conference abstract, poster, and manuscript submission processes, peer review, and publications ethics.
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance expectations for medical communications, including scientific balance, references, claims support, intended use, and fair/balanced presentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong scientific writing and editing accuracy.
  • Knowledge of publication best practices such as ICMJE, GPP, and COPE guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and plan proactively.
  • Up to 20% travel required, including at least 2 All Hands meetings per year and at least 2 key scientific congresses per year.

  • Annual base salary range of $170,000 to $195,000.
