Description

  • Analyze system performance, architecture, integration options, and design trades against operational mission needs.
  • Translate warfighting requirements and operational constraints into system-level parameters, performance thresholds, and analytic frameworks.
  • Use high-end models and simulations, including Lattice Mission Simulation and AFSIM, to conduct analytical studies.
  • Evaluate how platform, payload, autonomy, sensor, effector, communications, navigation, or command-and-control choices affect mission outcomes.
  • Conduct trade studies across alternative system configurations, architectures, payloads, deployment concepts, and employment models.
  • Design, execute, and analyze tactical wargames and engagement-level or mission-level analyses to assess autonomous system capabilities and refine tactics.
  • Develop physics-based models and operational scenarios, including red and blue force systems and tactics.
  • Create measures of performance, key performance parameters, key system attributes, and other mission-relevant technical metrics.
  • Assess system-of-systems interactions, integration risks, dependencies, constraints, and mission impacts.
  • Collaborate with warfighting capability analysts, engineering teams, and business development teams to ground analysis in operational problems and demonstrate Anduril’s value proposition.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in operations research, systems analysis (ORSA), systems engineering, mission engineering, test and evaluation, or a related technical-operational discipline.
  • Experience with tactical experiment and wargaming design, including scenario development, data analytics, and trade-space analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation for military missions, with preference for red force tactics, modeling, and simulation.
  • Experience providing technical direction and mentorship to junior M&S engineers, including guiding analytic approach, validating methodology, and reviewing work products.
  • Experience with DoD M&S tools such as AFSIM, Brawler, Suppressor, ESAMS, or Command PE.
  • Experience developing analytic products or tools usable by non-M&S specialists.
  • Proficiency with C++ or Python for physics-based modeling and scripting.
  • Ability to connect system performance, architecture, and design choices to mission outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to assess problems and present results effectively.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance that can be maintained.
  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Operational military background followed by work in an ORSA, M&S, or Operations Analyst role (preferred).
  • Experience with AFSIM plug-in development or advanced M&S framework customization (preferred).
  • Experience with defense, autonomous, maritime, undersea, sensor, effector, communications, navigation, C2, or ISR mission systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering, digital engineering, operational test, or experimentation (preferred).
  • Experience developing KPPs, KSAs, MOEs, MOPs, requirements, test objectives, or system performance assessments (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Tableau or scripting languages like MATLAB/SIMULINK (preferred).
  • Experience building or maturing an organization’s M&S capability or tool stack from an early stage (preferred).
  • Experience leading or coordinating M&S efforts across geographically distributed teams (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps (preferred).

Benefits
