Description

  • Monitor and assess offline risk factors such as human trafficking, organized crime, and related criminal activity within the client’s operational landscape.
  • Use internal data, OSINT, and third-party intelligence to identify undiscovered abuse and offline risk cases.
  • Analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights and develop new strategies to stop or reduce criminal activity.
  • Communicate investigation findings and recommendations to management and product teams to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with trust, product, and engineering teams to implement mitigations for emerging safety risks.
  • Lead and support complex investigations involving large datasets and multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop investigative frameworks and methodologies that can be integrated into existing trust and safety practices.
  • Contribute to new enforcement policies aimed at mitigating emerging threats.
  • Monitor risk trends during onboarding and post-onboarding, and propose improvements to reduce safety risks.
  • Help refine automated monitoring and alert systems to detect abnormal customer behavior and improve rule efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of investigative experience, preferably at a major technology or travel company.
  • Subject matter expertise in organized crime, such as human trafficking or drug trafficking, is a plus.
  • Experience monitoring and mitigating offline safety risks is a plus.
  • Ability to conduct deep-dive specialist investigations and analyze technical and behavioral signals.
  • Intermediate SQL skills, including the ability to edit and write simple to semi-complex queries.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques to inform risk management decisions.
  • Previous experience in trust and safety, fraud detection, or risk management on a user-centric platform.
  • Understanding of the criminal applications of technology is preferred.
  • Experience producing comprehensive intelligence reports on geopolitical, cyber, and violent actor behaviors and their impact on product exposure.
  • Track record of analyzing and mitigating high-impact threats and threat actors.
  • Proven ability to apply analytical and statistical methods to solve real-world problems using large datasets.
  • Experience managing organization-wide projects and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for explaining complex data and insights to diverse audiences.
  • Strong team orientation and willingness to support broader program success beyond individual work.
  • Must be based in PST or MST for U.S. hiring and willing to work until 5:30 p.m. PST.
  • Availability to occasionally work holidays, weekends, or evenings during high-profile or emergency events.
  • Willingness to join early morning or late evening calls to coordinate with a global team.
