Description

  • Integrate emerging networking capabilities and bring new hardware and software products into the Menace family of systems.
  • Contribute to networking requirements decomposition across cross-functional teams and help define success amid ambiguity.
  • Design network topologies and configurations for complex design reference missions involving large-scale unmanned systems and forward-deployed command and control systems.
  • Design, implement, deploy, and troubleshoot Layer 1 through Layer 4 networking solutions that meet security goals.
  • Own systems end to end, identify and resolve networking issues between system seams, and deliver outcomes with sound tradeoffs.
  • Perform trade studies on communications and networking solutions, including government-provided technologies.
  • Build tooling for benchmarking and analyzing network traffic.
  • Analyze test network infrastructure and recommend and implement improvements to reliability and throughput.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to build modeling and simulation environments, including hardware-in-the-loop lab infrastructure.
  • Analyze packet data to identify anomalous behavior, security threats, and communication inefficiencies across tactical network deployments.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active U.S. security clearance, secret or higher.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in tactical networking or related fields.
  • 2-5 years of expertise in tactical LOS and BLOS RF systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with ad-hoc mesh networking, secure communication protocols, software-defined networking, internet protocols, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with commercial SDWAN solutions.
  • Experience with mesh networking radios.
  • Experience with network modeling and simulation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with network traffic analysis tools and PCAP analysis, such as Wireshark, tcpdump, or NetworkMiner.
  • Proficiency in analyzing network protocols and packet structures to diagnose communication issues in tactical environments.
  • Understanding of empirical testing criteria using quantitative and qualitative measures for trade studies and hardware/software analysis.
  • Experience applying engineering standards to engineering processes or requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and challenging problems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be willing to travel for test field events up to 40%.
  • Preferred: expertise in ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore communications, including SatCom, VHF/UHF, LPI/LPD, anti-jamming, MIMO, and antenna theory.
  • Preferred: expertise in cloud networking.
  • Preferred: expertise in cybersecurity.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience with Python, C/C++, or Rust for analysis and simulation.
  • Preferred: experience with electronic warfare technologies.
  • Preferred: experience with spectrum management and deconfliction.
  • Preferred: experience developing custom PCAP analysis tools or scripts for specialized network environments.
