Description

  • Diagnose and resolve service-impacting issues across backbone fiber, central office, remote terminal, and collocation environments.
  • Troubleshoot inside plant network connectivity and equipment, including optical line terminals, optical switches, routers, and wireless radios.
  • Repair issues involving inside wiring, power systems, and network devices such as modems, gateways, switches, and routers.
  • Install, restore, and maintain central office facilities, monitoring equipment, wireless radios, and supporting equipment.
  • Perform installation, construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting work on cabling and telecom network devices.
  • Make cross-connects in telecom spaces and support downstream portions of the network infrastructure.
  • Work with vendor partners to build expertise in inside plant installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Communicate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and industry partners with professionalism and thoroughness.
  • Follow operational processes and procedures with attention to detail.
  • Work non-standard hours and travel domestically as required.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) or Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) network construction and/or fiber network deployments.
  • 3 years of experience in rack and stack work, server stanchion assembly, telemetry closet work, patch panels, and telecom headend work.
  • 3 years of experience with physical-layer networking components, including optical line terminals, optical switches, twisted pair copper cabling (Category 5 or greater), patch panels, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs of equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check that meets company standards.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and rotating shifts, with 10% domestic travel.
  • Experience operating Google Workspace and Salesforce applications (preferred).
  • Experience installing and maintaining Juniper, Adtran, or Nokia equipment (preferred).
  • Experience working with utility companies and city/local permitting offices, and knowledge of outside plant FTTH deployments (preferred).
  • 3 years of experience with fiber-to-the-business (B2B) or enterprise-level fiber network construction/operations (preferred).
  • Experience troubleshooting Ethernet issues related to routers, switches, and hubs (preferred).
  • Experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining point-to-point or omnidirectional wireless networks (preferred).
  • Experience managing relationships with contractors and vendors of varying sizes (preferred).

Benefits
