Description

  • Define, establish, and lead the infrastructure integration engineering practice for acquisition integration.
  • Own all infrastructure components of acquisition integration from discovery and due diligence through migration execution and hypercare.
  • Conduct technical assessments of target companies’ infrastructure, systems, and operational capabilities.
  • Develop and present architectural strategies and integration roadmaps to executive leadership, founders, and technical teams.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable system architectures for integrated environments.
  • Develop and execute detailed migration plans and manage technical dependencies during integrations.
  • Provide post-migration hypercare support to stabilize integrated systems.
  • Define, document, benchmark, and continuously improve repeatable integration processes through post-mortems and lessons learned.
  • Identify tooling gaps and implement or scope tools to improve discovery, migration, and testing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Security and Client Engineering teams to ensure secure and seamless integrations.
  • Provide clear technical guidance, challenge misaligned proposals, and act as a trusted advisor and mentor to engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of progressive experience in Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, and/or IT Infrastructure roles in complex enterprise environments.
  • Ability to work independently across program management, architecture, and hands-on engineering responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience defining engineering practices and repeatable processes.
  • Experience operating across the full engineering lifecycle, from discovery and architecture through execution and hypercare.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executives, founders, and engineering teams.
  • Understanding of modern cloud architectures, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as hybrid and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Experience with enterprise networking technologies such as routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
  • Knowledge of server virtualization, containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with IAM, SSO, and MFA solutions.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure scripting and automation tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and common system and network vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with client engineering principles and technologies.
  • Experience identifying tooling gaps and either building solutions or scoping them for development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to travel for remote deployments and assessments as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Preferred: prior systems or network integration experience in acquisitions or spin-outs.
  • Preferred: knowledge of IDS/IPS and SIEM systems as they relate to network infrastructure.
  • Preferred: strong knowledge of network protocols, segmentation, and traffic management.
  • Preferred: advanced enterprise networking experience with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, Spanning Tree, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, IPsec, SSL, F5, and HAProxy.
  • Preferred: experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and principles.
  • Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Preferred: experience with data center design and operations.
  • Preferred: experience in defense technology or highly regulated industries.
