Description

  • Own customer success by designing and delivering a multi-year, multi-stakeholder software roadmap across multiple teams.
  • Leverage internal engineering teams to rapidly deliver capabilities beyond current platform scope.
  • Partner with external teams to align on interfacing requirements across diverse systems and technologies.
  • Drive architecture selection and design for robotic systems, including hardware, compute, storage, network, and service orchestration decisions.
  • Contribute to the company-wide roadmap for software inputs to autonomous systems.
  • Lead teams developing software that runs on- and off-platform using a variety of technologies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for software engineering in discussions with engineering, business, and sales leadership.
  • Drive development processes for initial delivery and ongoing iteration of software, including full lifecycle testing.
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that support both software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment, and mentor multidisciplinary engineers including Senior Software Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a leadership position within a high-performing technology organization.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer with one or more domains or technologies of expertise.
  • Strong systems and/or application programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Ability to work across the full software stack through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
  • Ability to serve as technical owner for an entire software system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to learn and grow individually while mentoring senior team members and building team cohesion.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred: experience in a senior role delivering a military mission system, backend or embedded software in C++, Rust, and/or Go, frontend applications using TypeScript and React, horizontally scaled cloud technologies, embedded robotics software, modeling and simulation, high-assurance safety-critical software, and product delivery lifecycle work including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment.
