Description

  • Develop and maintain core capabilities in Unreal Engine, including terrain rendering pipelines and vehicle physics models.
  • Work with other platform teams to ensure the synthetic imagery service integrates seamlessly with core Anduril systems.
  • Integrate plugins and third-party capabilities into the platform and resolve or work around bugs.
  • Collaborate across teams to enable adoption of synthetic imagery and incorporate feedback to improve the product.
  • Iterate on sensor fidelity and environmental realism based on autonomy team feedback to better match real-world performance.
  • Support simulation use cases for software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, machine learning data generation, and user training simulations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional C++ programming experience.
  • Willingness to travel 10% for collaboration across offices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Design, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization.
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine or demonstrated experience in robotics/autonomy systems such as sensor simulation, perception pipelines, or SITL/HITL testing.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Experience with performance analysis and debugging tools such as gdb, bpftrace, and perf.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred.
  • Rust programming experience preferred.
  • Experience in a Linux development environment preferred.
  • GPU and graphics programming experience, including HLSL, Vulkan, or CUDA, preferred.
  • Familiarity with training machine learning models, especially for computer vision use cases, preferred.
  • Understanding of sensor physics such as cameras, LiDAR, radar, and EO/IR, and how to model them accurately in simulation, preferred.
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools preferred.
