Description

  • Lead test and evaluation programs for individual development projects from start to finish.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute test events for mission autonomy capabilities using surrogate vehicles.
  • Design and implement test plans that challenge and verify autonomous system performance across simulated mission profiles.
  • Analyze test data to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, product managers, and program teams to define test requirements and align on system capabilities and mission objectives.
  • Drive end-to-end test management, including shaping program requirements, leading execution efforts, and delivering concise reports.
  • Coordinate with private and government partners to test and evaluate systems and software.
  • Communicate test results and technical issues to government leaders and internal company leadership.
  • Develop the ability to manage multiple test projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience in autonomous systems testing.
  • 5+ years of in-depth test and evaluation experience, preferably with autonomous systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans for complex systems under aggressive timelines.
  • Proven experience coordinating and executing complex test events.
  • Experience developing metrics and performance dashboards.
  • Track record of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical challenges and solutions to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to engage and communicate with military and government customers.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to various testing locations as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret-level security clearance.
  • Direct experience developing, testing, and deploying mission autonomy systems in a defense or aerospace context (preferred).
  • Familiarity with FAA, FCC, and other relevant regulations (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with simulation environments and tools used for testing autonomous systems (preferred).
  • Experience with Python, C++, ROS, or similar autonomy and robotics programming tools (preferred).
  • Prior experience mentoring junior team members (preferred).
  • Knowledge of current industry and military standards related to unmanned aerial systems and national airspace operations (preferred).
