Description

  • Drive supplier quality development through product development stages, including design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification.
  • Partner with engineering to design, develop, qualify, and implement functional test and performance validation processes at suppliers for critical COTS/MOTS parts.
  • Collaborate with development engineering, product quality engineering, strategic sourcing, and program management to support predictable supply and manage supplier exceptions, containments, and deviations.
  • Analyze key and critical characteristics for drawings and supplier specifications, and lead measurement system and supplier qualification activities such as PPAP, FAIR, audits, and inspection development.
  • Work with sourcing teams to improve supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and fulfillment of strategic goals.
  • Own efforts to reduce supplier risk and improve quality and reliability across the product lifecycle through audits, readiness reviews, training, and documentation.
  • Support RCCA and MRB activities and own containments for purchased goods, including driving resolution of fitment issues.
  • Drive supplier corrective action and response (SCAR) processes and share lessons learned across the product team.
  • Audit supplier quality management systems and improve required documentation to ensure compliance with customer flow-down requirements.
  • Prepare for, support, and lead onsite supplier audits and reviews for contract deliverables, quality management, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 3-5 years of supplier quality engineering, onsite quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering experience in a highly regulated production environment.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, micro-electronics, or mechanical assembly manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based quality management system requirements and auditing.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 industry standard.
  • Experience driving supplier performance and evaluation, including working with SOWs, quality clauses, IP, and government regulations such as ITAR.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP elements, FMEA, QCP, SPC, and MSA.
  • Experience with quality improvement and failure analysis methods such as 5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone, and Shainin Red X.
  • Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated ability to drive projects from start to finish.
  • Analytical experience with data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical tools such as MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access requirements for export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers, sourcing partners, and manufacturing locations.
  • Active or former IPC 610 or IPC 620 certification preferred.
  • Experience with commodities such as RF applications, cameras and sensors, HVAC and thermal controls, motors, and servos preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include CQE, CSSBB, CQA, and CQM.
  • Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements preferred.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, Tableau, and Palantir Foundry preferred.
