Description

  • Drive delivery of software integrated into maritime products, including autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and command and control.
  • Own software-enabled solutions deployed to customers, with accountability for end-user value and system outcomes.
  • Design and implement scalable software with a clear path for architecture and capability evolution.
  • Contribute to the design and development of reusable software services across multiple Anduril product lines.
  • Develop software that runs both on and off robotic platforms using a range of technologies.
  • Design, implement, and execute development processes for vehicle and mission software, including lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operation.
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that support software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment activities.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team and mentor software engineers from different backgrounds.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to work with end-users or other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer in one or more domains or technologies.
  • Strong systems and/or application programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Ability to work across the full software lifecycle, from design and implementation through operation and sustainment.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to learn quickly, grow individually, and mentor junior team members effectively.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience in a senior role delivering a military mission system (preferred).
  • Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++, Rust, and/or Go (preferred).
  • Experience writing frontend applications using TypeScript and React (preferred).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies (preferred).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting embedded software, particularly in robotics (preferred).
  • Experience with modeling and simulation (preferred).
  • Experience developing high-assurance, safety-critical software (preferred).
  • Experience across the product delivery lifecycle, including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts (preferred).
  • Interest in progressing into Staff Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager roles (preferred).
