Description

  • Develop, champion, and maintain a network automation strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact automation opportunities across data center, backbone, OT, cloud, and other network environments.
  • Design, architect, develop, and integrate scalable automation tools and frameworks for infrastructure management.
  • Build and maintain automation using Go, Python, Nornir, Ansible, and related technologies.
  • Integrate automation solutions with existing systems, APIs, and operational processes.
  • Implement and promote Infrastructure as Code practices for network resource provisioning using tools such as Terraform.
  • Maintain IaC scripts and templates to support consistency, version control, and reproducibility.
  • Create automated monitoring, reporting, and pre-/post-change validation workflows for network changes.
  • Implement automated security checks and compliance audits to support policy and regulatory adherence.
  • Document automation designs, configurations, and operational processes, and mentor/train broader engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of network engineering experience with a strong focus on automation and scripting.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Go for automation scripting and general software development.
  • Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Nornir, Ansible, Salt, or Puppet.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
  • Experience interacting with network devices via APIs such as RESTCONF and NETCONF, as well as SNMP and other programmatic interfaces.
  • Strong experience with Git and modern CI/CD methodologies for network configuration deployments.
  • Familiarity with network operating systems from multiple vendors, including Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, Arista EOS, and Palo Alto PAN-OS.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and Bash scripting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex network and automation issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally and mentor peers.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance.
