Description

  • Collaborate with technical leads and other managers to design and deliver a multi-year software roadmap across multiple teams and products.
  • Leverage internal teams and external third parties to rapidly deliver new capabilities and enable architecture evolution over time.
  • Manage architecture selection and design for robotic systems, including hardware, compute, storage, networking, and service orchestration.
  • Influence the company-wide roadmap for software inputs to autonomous systems.
  • Lead groups of teams developing software that runs on-platform and off-platform across multiple technologies.
  • Represent software priorities to engineering, business, and sales leadership in multi-stakeholder discussions.
  • Drive development processes for initial delivery and ongoing iteration, including full lifecycle testing.
  • Build and manage a 12-36 month roadmap and allocated budget for the group.
  • Manage programmatic risk and collaborate on technical risk and decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop subordinate teams and managers through coaching, career management, and collaboration with recruiting and people functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a senior management position within a high-performing technology organization.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer with one or more domains or technologies of expertise.
  • Ability to lead software teams across the full lifecycle, including design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
  • Ability to own a software platform spanning multiple integrated products, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, and team coordination.
  • Ability to learn and grow individually while mentoring team members and building team cohesion and capacity.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience delivering a military mission system and/or autonomous vehicle in a senior role (preferred).
  • Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C, C++, Rust, and/or Go (preferred).
  • Experience with frontend applications using Typescript and React, RTOS, horizontally scaled cloud technologies, embedded robotics software, modeling and simulation, communications busses and protocols, safety-critical software standards such as DO-178 or IEC 61508, sensors and actuators, electrical and mechanical systems, navigation and communications systems, or the product delivery lifecycle (preferred).
