Description

  • Capture current manufacturing processes, constraints, business rules, and decision logic in a 3D simulation-based virtual factory.
  • Create feasible shop floor, warehouse, factory, and supply chain plans and schedules that are resource-, material-, and timeline-feasible.
  • Maintain a data-driven virtual factory as a current-status digital reference model for future performance and investment decisions.
  • Own the design of new production lines and work station layouts for low-rate and full-rate production.
  • Identify variation, imbalances, and bottlenecks caused by layout, equipment, staffing, or other inputs and drive issues to resolution with cross-functional owners.
  • Translate production metrics and KPIs into action to improve line health and efficiency, including cycle time, throughput, capacity, utilization, and first pass yield.
  • Produce and maintain capacity plans, balanced line layouts, staffing allocations, and time standards for manufacturing work content.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to drive operational improvements end to end.
  • Work across both execution-focused tasks and strategic future-state planning for products or business lines.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Technomatix Plant Sim or equivalent discrete event simulation software such as Promodel, FlexSim, or Simio, or basic knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Python, R, C++, or Java, or experience working with large datasets using SQL or NoSQL.
  • Ability to read technical documentation including facility drawings, assembly drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferred.
  • Experience designing or setting up new production lines or factories from process mapping through workstation and infrastructure design, preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and/or Six Sigma principles, preferred.
  • Experience interacting with data through visualization tools or SQL queries, preferred.
  • Prior experience with ERP, WMS, and MES systems, preferred.
  • Knowledge of stochastic and deterministic models and when to apply them, preferred.
  • Proficiency handling large datasets, including filtering, trend identification, and graphical representation, preferred.
  • Knowledge of design and manufacturing engineering processes, including 3D CAD modeling, 3D factory layout, manufacturing process planning, manufacturing simulation, ergonomics, discrete event simulation, and statistical process control, preferred.
