Description

  • Lead and manage a team of product quality engineers to eliminate failures during development and support production scaling and deployment quality issues.
  • Drive product development quality through design reviews, process development, verification, validation, and qualification of parts, sub-assemblies, and systems.
  • Resolve product maturity, process stability, and field performance ambiguities that affect quality and reliability goals.
  • Own product risk reduction and reliability improvement across the full product lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing and field use.
  • Ensure execution of product and process requirements, and define and improve those requirements as needed.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including reviewing effectiveness and sharing lessons learned.
  • Analyze product health data, establish quality metrics, and drive corrective performance when results are out of specification.
  • Review contract language and build a quality program that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, including documentation and required activities.
  • Develop strategies and resource plans with production, program management, deployments, sourcing, and engineering leaders to meet customer and product requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience leading a team of quality resources to resolve production execution and product quality issues.
  • Working knowledge of design review and quality management for PCBA, harnessing, mechanical structures, systems integration, power/battery systems, radar, vision/optical image capture, networking/communication protocols, and remote management systems.
  • Experience driving product quality and performance requirements into test and measurement system development and optimization.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements, MSA, and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and clarify technical drawings, requirements, quality clauses, and SOWs.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Execution systems, Configuration Management, and Document Control.
  • Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated ability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical tools such as MatLab, JMP, and MiniTab.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a U.S. Secret-level security clearance.
  • Preferred: experience recruiting, hiring, and developing engineers and specialists.
  • Preferred: 7+ years of experience building quality systems for low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments and suppliers.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
  • Preferred: experience with IPC standards and ESD/FOD prevention and mitigation.
  • Preferred: experience with government contracts and military standard requirements.
  • Preferred: experience with Teamcenter, Oracle, warehouse management, non-conformance management systems, and Jira-based workflow tools.
