Description

  • Own production test activities and ensure smooth production test flow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrared system issues discovered during testing.
  • Maintain test coverage across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkout and acceptance testing to component-level validation.
  • Create test work instructions for technicians in MES and provide equipment training as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides and diagrams.
  • Build and maintain software for test automation, data analytics, and report generation.
  • Determine root cause of product failures and recommend corrective and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA).
  • Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Provide feedback to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI).
  • Analyze test data, document results, and deliver reports that identify defects and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to recommend product enhancements based on test outcomes.
  • Optimize test strategies to reduce test time without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Experience with data acquisition and processing using MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with test automation and report generation.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience working on integrated electrical, opto-mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of infrared systems, including performance requirements and verification methodologies (preferred).
  • Experience with cryogenic testing equipment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, thermal chambers, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition, and measurement sensors (preferred).
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN (preferred).
