Description

  • Own the day-to-day operation, programming, and optimization of the campus Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS).
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot Direct Digital Control (DDC) and PLC systems, graphics, and alarm structures.
  • Manage external controls contractors and system integrators during facility expansions, retrofits, and capital improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with MEP engineering and operations teams to review sequences of operations and commission new equipment.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on system failures, temperature and pressure excursions, and power quality anomalies using data trends and analytics.
  • Ensure the integrity and cybersecurity of the operational technology (OT) network in coordination with IT and Information Security teams.
  • Establish and execute preventative and corrective maintenance programs for controls hardware, sensors, actuators, and software databases.
  • Develop dashboards, graphics, and automated reports for energy tracking, utility usage, and equipment runtime.
  • Create and maintain documentation including control schematics, system architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, building automation, or industrial instrumentation, preferably in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, data centers, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and programming Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
  • Deep knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, P&IDs, and sequence of operations documents.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with control panels, controllers, VFDs, flow meters, actuators, and environmental sensors.
  • Experience managing controls vendors, system integrators, and electrical contractors.
  • Ability to work independently with ambiguity and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, company, and regulatory compliance.
  • Willingness to handle emergencies outside normal working hours.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments such as ladders and mechanical rooms.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Tridium Niagara 4 (N4) or AX certification preferred.
  • Experience with EPMS platforms preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Understanding of OT cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443 and industrial network architecture preferred.
  • Experience supporting secure spaces such as SCIFs or SAPFs preferred.
  • Experience with energy management, LEED, or commissioning standards preferred.
