Description

  • Identify, procure, and bring up appropriate test equipment, including documenting its use, integration, and execution.
  • Execute or facilitate structural, dynamic, and environmental testing on AUVs, subsystems, and piece-part hardware.
  • Lead test campaigns from test plan creation and system activation through test operations, data review, and equipment design or fabrication.
  • Generate work instructions for technicians supporting fabrication and integration of test articles and equipment.
  • Operate and troubleshoot data acquisition and control systems, wiring, instrumentation, thermal chambers, electrodynamics shakers, and fluid power systems.
  • Automate repetitive test operations to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to resolve system anomalies and improve test outcomes.
  • Maintain high safety standards during test setup and execution.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a related engineering field.
  • Experience with immersive interdisciplinary technical projects in collegiate or professional settings.
  • Experience in hardware automation and software-hardware communication or integration.
  • Strong understanding and practical use of engineering first principles.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in an engineering discipline.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Knowledge of controls engineering (preferred).
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and control components such as accelerometers, load cells, thermocouples, pressure transducers, strain gauges, and RTDs (preferred).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard test guidance such as MIL-STD-810 and NAVSEA (preferred).
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language such as Python or Matlab (preferred).
  • Experience with 3D modeling software and PLM tools such as Siemens NX and Teamcenter (preferred).
  • Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs, such as motors, controllers, and sensors (preferred).
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing (preferred).
