Description

  • Build backend services, pipelines, tooling, and infrastructure that support other engineers and shipped products.
  • Own meaningful pieces of end-to-end work from service development through AWS infrastructure setup and CI integration.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver, debug, and improve production systems.
  • Develop platform and developer-productivity tooling that helps software teams scale their output.
  • Work with Go or Python services and Terraform-based infrastructure as part of day-to-day implementation.
  • Debug production issues and maintain systems when they misbehave in production.
  • Learn new layers of the stack on the job and adapt to unfamiliar systems.
  • Support work in a defense environment involving secure and export-controlled information.

Requirements

  • Experience building backend software or developer tooling used by real users.
  • Interest in joining a DevInfra team supporting a high-stakes defense program.
  • Ability to work end-to-end across software, infrastructure, CI, and production debugging.
  • U.S. Person status due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Rust, Go, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript (preferred).
  • Professional software development lifecycle experience using version control and CI/CD systems (preferred).
  • Experience building backend software systems with varied data storage and processing requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure fundamentals including networking, security, and distributed systems (preferred).
  • Experience with modern build and deployment tooling such as NixOS or Terraform (preferred).
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases (preferred).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (preferred).
  • Exposure to containers, SBOM tooling, or vulnerability scanning tools such as Syft, Grype, or Trivy (preferred).
  • Prior experience on a platform, DevInfra, SRE, or developer-productivity team (preferred).
  • Background in a startup, startup-like environment, engineering school, or other low-structure, high-autonomy setting (preferred).
  • A bias toward rapid delivery and iteration, and prior experience building or inventing an app, website, game, or startup (preferred).
