Description

  • Lead and manage complex research and evaluation projects or a portfolio of studies aligned with client and organizational priorities.
  • Oversee project planning, design, implementation, methods, timelines, procedures, and reporting structures.
  • Anticipate project risks and develop mitigation strategies to support timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, IRB requirements, and data governance policies.
  • Advise teams on advanced quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches.
  • Develop conceptual frameworks and innovative research methodologies for prevention and evaluation work.
  • Lead data review, analysis, synthesis, and visualization efforts while ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy by identifying emerging research needs, funding trends, and innovation opportunities.
  • Represent AIR in national working groups, advisory panels, and technical expert meetings.
  • Lead proposal development, build partnerships, and support business growth through federal, state, foundation, and other opportunities.

Requirements

  • PhD in a related field such as Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, or Public Policy with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Firm understanding of implementation science.
  • Experience at a contract research and/or evaluation organization.
  • Experience with data collection methods such as structured interviews, observations, and survey research.
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative analytic software such as STATA, R, Excel, NVivo, or Access.
  • Experience managing project and/or task teams on research and evaluation projects.
  • Experience building and maintaining client and partner relationships.
  • Experience with business pursuit, including grant and proposal writing.
  • Direct experience with suicide prevention, preferably in military, law enforcement, or justice system contexts.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis, with no employment-based visa sponsorship available.
  • Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

Benefits

  • Anticipated annual salary of $126,000 to $154,000 USD.
  • Remote work available within the United States or from one of AIR’s U.S. office locations.
