Description

  • Own the competency navigation algorithm behind the Learner-Competency-Mapper, including its design, implementation, and update dynamics.
  • Encode the prerequisite structure of the domain so the model works from cold start and improves as learner data arrives.
  • Build probabilistic path-recommendation models for learner next-step decisions.
  • Develop pipelines that convert unstructured platform data into usable signals.
  • Design and run constrained LLM-as-judge workflows, including model selection and evaluation design.
  • Build behavioral and at-risk profiling models as the platform accumulates feedback data.
  • Develop models that evaluate learners for the Grader-Competency-Pulser.
  • Ship production pipelines rather than only notebooks or offline analyses.
  • Collaborate effectively in small physical teams and larger virtual teams across locations.

Requirements

  • Strong depth in probabilistic or Bayesian modelling, with experience designing models from domain structure.
  • Strong Python skills and the ability to ship production pipelines.
  • Experience with evaluation design, or the ability to build evaluation frameworks quickly.
  • Exposure to Bayesian Knowledge Tracing (BKT), Knowledge Space Theory (KST), or psychometrics is desirable.
  • Experience with MLflow or similar experiment tracking tools is desirable.
  • Knowledge of knowledge graphs is desirable.
  • Experience with serious probabilistic modelling in structured domains such as recommenders, knowledge graphs, or causal inference is a plus.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly.
  • Ability to discuss when a model was wrong and how the issue was identified.
  • Full-time availability.
  • Preferred time zone: GMT+2.
