Description

  • Set the technical direction and multi-quarter strategy for visual representation learning, multimodal content understanding, and LLM-based personalization.
  • Lead scientific and engineering initiatives from problem definition and research strategy through experimentation, productionization, and adoption.
  • Build reusable embeddings, representations, semantic signals, and machine learning infrastructure.
  • Advance methods including VLMs, LLMs, sequence modeling, self-supervised learning, retrieval, and distillation.
  • Partner with Product, Data Science, Applied Science, and Engineering teams to translate foundational capabilities into product outcomes.
  • Establish practices for modeling, data pipelines, distributed training, inference, evaluation, experimentation, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor engineers and scientists and align cross-functional stakeholders on roadmaps, priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years leading technical teams.
  • MS or PhD in computer science, machine learning, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed training of generative models, including LLMs, VLMs, or sequence models.
  • Experience with distributed ML data pipeline tools such as Spark, Hive, or MapReduce.
  • Experience leading ambiguous ML and research initiatives involving GenAI for content understanding, search, or recommendation systems.
  • Technical leadership experience setting roadmaps spanning modeling, data pipelines, and productionization.
  • Publications at leading machine learning, multimodal, or data mining conferences, or open-source ML experience.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.

  • Base salary range of $189,308–$389,753 USD for US-based applicants, plus equity eligibility.
