Description

  • Produce quantitative and economic analysis for Executive Committee and Board decisions, including scenarios, unit economics, capacity, costs, and forecasts.
  • Consolidate incomplete and conflicting inputs into defensible views while clearly documenting assumptions, limitations, and uncertainty.
  • Maintain external evidence on comparator institutions, sector benchmarks, published research, and relevant precedents.
  • Design decision-ready outputs such as executive briefs, presentations, dashboards, models, and verbal briefings for varied audiences.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows for data extraction, reconciliation, monitoring, reporting, and alerts.
  • Use and validate AI-enabled tools, agents, and scripted workflows to improve analytical productivity.
  • Improve analytical methodologies, templates, quality checks, reporting processes, and team capability.
  • Track decisions, actions, owners, assumptions, deadlines, and escalation items across performance and planning activities.
  • Coordinate analysis, materials, inputs, and follow-up for committee meetings, planning cycles, statutory requirements, and reporting deadlines.
  • Adhere to ALU safeguarding policies and support the safety and well-being of students and vulnerable adults.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of relevant professional experience producing analysis for senior decision-makers in a research institution, consultancy, financial institution, policy body, university, or comparable function.
  • Training or practical experience in economics, consulting, policy research, financial analysis, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Strong understanding of opportunity cost, marginal effects, incentives, counterfactuals, cost behavior, revenue, and financial implications.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into concise executive communication, including decision briefs, presentations, dashboards, and recommendations.
  • Working proficiency in Python or R and experience building or supporting analytical workflows with limited manual intervention.
  • Practical experience using AI-enabled tools, including large language models, agents, or scripted workflows.
  • Ability to reconcile incomplete and conflicting inputs from multiple sources into a single defensible view.
  • Ability to become productive quickly in unfamiliar subject areas and develop sufficient domain knowledge for effective analysis.
  • Experience working across functions with different data sources, priorities, and perspectives is preferred.
  • Exposure to executive, Board, or committee reporting is desirable.
