Description

  • Design and implement guidance, navigation, and control solutions for new spacecraft and mission payloads.
  • Analyze, design, and develop GNC systems including sensors, actuators, algorithms, flight software, and GNC electronics.
  • Support subsystem requirements development and requirement flow-down across all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Apply Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Test approaches.
  • Reuse heritage products where possible and identify when modifications are needed.
  • Drive multiple design activities and may lead spacecraft, payload, satellite bus, or launch integration efforts.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and execution across engineering and integration activities.
  • Support spacecraft development roadmaps, including design adjustments, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Define spacecraft customization processes for customer mission needs.
  • Perform GNC system engineering activities to build, maintain, and evolve spacecraft products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related scientific area.
  • Master's degree in STEM or a related scientific area preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a master's degree in guidance, navigation, and control system analysis, design, and verification on spacecraft.
  • Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and STK.
  • Experience modeling, simulating, and analyzing spacecraft GNC sensors, actuators, dynamics, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML/UML) and related requirements, architecture, interface, and trade study processes.
  • Familiarity with software development, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in C or C++ and scripting languages such as TCL or Python.
  • Periodic travel of less than 20% to customer facilities or partner companies, plus occasional international travel.
  • US citizenship is required; only US persons may apply.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required as a condition of hire.
