Description

  • Lead technical execution from initial vision and design through prototyping and first successful testing.
  • Own surrogate aircraft development to speed up live-flight algorithm testing.
  • Develop systems for expeditionary operation, intuitive warfighter setup and use, and modular sensor expansion.
  • Set up technical trades to evaluate early designs and select solutions for current and future capability gaps.
  • Work across software, hardware, and testing to shape a system-level architecture that is robust and cost effective.
  • Execute and support prototype, low-rate production, and subsystem/system-level test efforts.
  • Support remote troubleshooting and operation of deployed systems.
  • Prepare mission cards and help plan flight missions to meet engineering and program requirements.
  • Drive rapid validation of new algorithms and subsystems in representative conditions.
  • Unblock engineering progress by leading root-cause analysis and resolving issues across functional teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with Ardupilot or PX4.
  • Experience with RC systems.
  • Part 107 operator certification.
  • Willingness to travel less than 30%.
  • Basic understanding of aerodynamics, inertial measurement units (IMUs), control actuation servos, and their impact on system performance.
  • Experience with data analysis, rapid prototyping, and early-stage customer deployment.
  • Hands-on build and prototyping experience with complex robotic systems.
  • Ability to engage technically with mechanical, electrical, firmware, sensors, and robotics software leads.
  • Ability to travel on short notice to support operational needs and test execution.
  • High-ownership, mission-oriented mindset with a focus on customer outcomes.
  • Commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
  • Desire to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Real-world operational experience with small UAS systems in a military context is preferred.
