Description

  • Design and implement business continuity and disaster recovery programs aligned to industry frameworks such as ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, and ISO 27001.
  • Conduct business impact analyses to identify critical functions, dependencies, and recovery priorities.
  • Define and maintain recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives for critical systems and services.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery playbooks, runbooks, and crisis communication frameworks.
  • Lead tabletop exercises, disaster recovery drills, and recovery testing to validate procedures and drive improvements.
  • Design and implement backup and recovery solutions for AWS infrastructure, including automated workflows for databases, storage, applications, and configurations.
  • Implement immutable backup strategies, offsite replication, and infrastructure as code for disaster recovery environments.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and documentation for backup health, replication lag, recovery readiness, and recovery processes.
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, audit, and compliance teams to support testing, assessments, and operational readiness.
  • Track and report resilience metrics, test results, capability assessments, and compliance-related outcomes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, with AWS required and GCP or Azure beneficial.
  • Deep expertise with enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, AWS Backup, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of cloud storage services such as S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Experience with containerized environments such as ECS, EKS, and Docker, including backup and recovery patterns.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures for systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing BCP/DR programs for technology organizations.
  • Experience conducting business impact analyses and developing recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of BCP/DR frameworks and standards including ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, and ISO 27001.
  • Experience leading disaster recovery exercises and tabletop simulations.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and orchestration.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and testing.
  • Understanding of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Prometheus.
  • Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCP, ABCP, CISA, or CRISC are preferred.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience building BCP/DR capabilities from the ground up or through major transformation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security incident response procedures and integration with disaster recovery is preferred.
  • Experience with disaster recovery in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare is preferred.
  • Experience with multi-region or multi-cloud recovery architectures is preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS or B2B technology companies is preferred.
