Description

  • Design, build, and evolve the authorization platform across RBAC, ABAC, and ReBAC models.
  • Design, build, and evolve the authentication platform across multiple use cases, including Auth0 integration.
  • Design, build, and evolve the user management platform for provisioning, managing, and deprovisioning users and entitlements.
  • Partner with security teams to ensure identity systems are secure by design and aligned with SOC2 and GDPR requirements.
  • Design and implement highly scalable systems that support a growing number of users and customers.
  • Help define the long-term roadmap across authentication, authorization, and user management.
  • Build self-service systems and APIs using GraphQL, gRPC, and REST for internal engineering teams.
  • Drive projects autonomously while collaborating closely with the Helsinki-based team across time zones.
  • Champion strong testing, observability, and reliability practices across the platform.

Requirements

  • Strong experience building and operating identity, authentication, or authorization platforms at scale.
  • Experience in a platform or product-platform engineering context.
  • Senior, self-sufficient engineering experience with the ability to shape roadmaps and drive execution independently.
  • Comfort working in a distributed, cross-timezone environment from North America with a Helsinki-based team.
  • Interest in security and experience partnering with security teams on secure-by-design systems.
  • Experience with Java 2X, Spring Boot 3.X.X, WebFlux, and Maven.
  • Experience with SQL, GraphQL, gRPC, and REST.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Experience with RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, SAML 2.0, SSO federation, and SCIM.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture patterns and either TDD or automated testing.
  • Nice to have: Auth0 experience.
  • Nice to have: SpiceDB or Zanzibar-style authorization system experience.
  • Nice to have: Apollo Federation experience.
  • Nice to have: OpenTelemetry experience.
  • Nice to have: Experience operating in SOC2 and/or GDPR-compliant environments.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $202,400 to $278,300 USD.
  • Potential equity grant.
