Description

  • Build the government sales function from scratch and establish the revenue process for a new team.
  • Identify, pursue, and close government contracts at the federal, state, and municipal levels.
  • Develop long-term relationships with agencies to create repeat procurement opportunities.
  • Map funding sources and public programs such as FEMA, HUD, CDBG, state emergency management, and municipal housing authorities to build a prioritized pipeline.
  • Partner with leadership to shape go-to-market strategy and refine positioning for government buyers.
  • Inform the product roadmap based on feedback and requirements from agency conversations.
  • Represent the company in procurement discussions, RFP processes, and agency briefings.
  • Create early operational systems for tracking, reporting, and sales process management as the team scales.
  • Contribute to fundraising narratives and investor conversations as a growth voice for the company.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of closing government contracts at the state, federal, or municipal level.
  • Ability to discuss specific government sales experience in detail, including agencies, procurement vehicles, and deal sizes.
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes, including GSA schedules, RFPs, sole-source mechanisms, and pre-bid relationship building.
  • Existing relationships with housing, emergency management, or infrastructure agencies.
  • Experience in modular construction, manufactured housing, disaster relief, or a related adjacent sector is a strong plus.
  • Startup-oriented mindset with the ability to build a pipeline and create a playbook independently.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, from long-term account planning to day-to-day follow-up.
  • Comfort working remotely with a lean team and navigating ambiguity as an early hire at a fast-moving company.
  • California-based candidates are preferred.
