Description

  • Design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale Snowflake environments, including database architecture, schema design, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Serve as the Snowflake subject matter expert for internal teams and clients, defining standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end data pipelines into and out of Snowflake, including ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
  • Architect Snowflake data sharing, data marketplace, and cross-cloud or cross-region replication strategies.
  • Define and enforce Snowflake security architecture, including RBAC, data masking, row-level security, and network policies.
  • Lead Snowflake performance optimization efforts, including clustering keys, materialized views, query profiling, warehouse sizing, and cost governance.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into Snowflake-first solution designs, including work packages, resourcing, and delivery approach.
  • Define technical approaches for Snowflake implementations, including data migration strategies, SDLC standards, and integration patterns.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers through technical direction and code/design review.
  • Present solution designs, architecture options, and delivery recommendations to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal Snowflake intellectual property, accelerators, and proposition development.
  • Collaborate with internal and client stakeholders across peers, architects, analysts, project managers, and technology teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of data engineering experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Snowflake implementation experience.
  • SnowPro Core certification at minimum.
  • SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer or Architect certification strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake features including Virtual Warehouses, Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Data Sharing, Marketplace, Time Travel, Fail-safe, Zero-Copy Cloning, and Snowflake Cortex.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Snowflake security models, including RBAC, data masking, row-level security, and network policy configuration.
  • Strong Snowflake performance tuning experience, including query optimization, clustering strategy, materialized views, warehouse rightsizing, and credit cost management.
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with orchestration and transformation tools, especially dbt, which is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Snowflake-compatible ingestion and pipeline tools such as Snowpipe, Kafka connectors, Fivetran, or Airbyte.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and Python experience for data engineering workflows, with Snowpark preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure or AWS.
  • Experience managing delivery using Agile or similar methodologies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholder expectations.
  • Previous experience at a global consulting firm is preferred.
  • Experience with Snowflake AI/ML capabilities such as Cortex, ML Functions, or Document AI is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake Native Apps and Streamlit-in-Snowflake is a plus.
  • Exposure to modern data stack tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue is a plus.
  • Experience with governance platforms that integrate with Snowflake, such as Alation, Collibra, or Atlan, is a plus.
  • Python-based ML/AI experience with tools such as scikit-learn or pandas is a plus.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $124,000 to $160,000.
  • 25 days of annual paid time off, plus paid holidays.
