Description

  • Design highly scalable, mission-critical market data provider services.
  • Improve the architecture of Alpaca’s data products across stocks, options, crypto, and foreign exchange markets.
  • Own public API structure and documentation for streaming and historical endpoints.
  • Plan, prototype, and deliver new services and libraries into production.
  • Maintain software quality and test coverage.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and investigate reported bugs.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of backend software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
  • DevOps mindset.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working with large datasets (nice to have).
  • Experience with Kubernetes; CKA or CKAD certification is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL (nice to have).
  • Experience with IP networking (nice to have).
  • Good understanding of financial markets (nice to have).
  • Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (nice to have).
  • Hands-on knowledge of shell scripting, Linux, and Docker (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of microservice architectures and clean code principles (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with GoLang, Python, REST, gRPC, WebSockets, SSE, Google Cloud Services, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
