Description

  • Design highly scalable, mission-critical market data provider services.
  • Build and scale systems and services that support Alpaca's trading infrastructure.
  • Improve the architecture of market data products and related API services.
  • Oversee public API structure and documentation for streaming and historical endpoints.
  • Plan, ideate, experiment, and ship new services and libraries into production.
  • Maintain software quality and test coverage.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and investigate reported bugs.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of backend software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
  • DevOps mindset.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working with large datasets (preferred).
  • Experience with Kubernetes; CKA or CKAD certification is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL (preferred).
  • Experience with IP networking (preferred).
  • Good understanding of financial markets (preferred).
  • Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred).
  • Hands-on knowledge of shell scripting, Linux, and Docker (preferred).
  • Knowledge of microservice architectures (preferred).
  • Knowledge of clean code principles (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of POSIX-like operating systems, modern infrastructure, and orchestration practices.
