Description

  • Execute full-cycle payroll processing for employees across Canada, the United States, and global EOR jurisdictions.
  • Validate payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and statutory deductions before each pay run.
  • Prepare and submit government remittances, statutory filings, and year-end reporting such as T4s and W-2s.
  • Manage off-cycle and adjustment payrolls with proper documentation and audit trails.
  • Maintain payroll records in line with retention requirements and data governance standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve complex pay issues.
  • Collaborate with Finance on reconciliations, journal entries, and budget reporting.
  • Partner with HR and People Operations on payroll-impacting employee lifecycle events.
  • Liaise with external payroll vendors and government agencies on remittance and regulatory matters.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, support audits, and recommend corrective actions for compliance risks.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of related payroll experience.
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma from a college or training institute.
  • Fluent written, reading, and oral communication in English.
  • In-depth knowledge of global payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms, including configuration, validation, and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in payroll reconciliation, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with global EOR payroll models and multi-country vendor management.
  • Working knowledge of SOX controls, SOC 2 requirements, and payroll audit practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Professional payroll designation strongly preferred.
