Description

  • Own the Billing product area end-to-end, including vision, backlog prioritization, user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature delivery.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure billing solutions meet accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Partner with engineering and platform teams to design secure, resilient, and scalable payment and invoicing systems.
  • Support billing operations improvement by reducing manual reconciliation, improving cash collection, and automating disputes and refunds.
  • Work with Customer Success and Sales to translate commercial contracts, pricing models, and invoicing needs into product capabilities.
  • Define and track billing KPIs such as DSO, failed payments, and reconciliation rate to guide prioritization.
  • Support migrations and integrations with external ERPs and accounting systems while protecting data integrity and close processes.
  • Act as the product authority in planning, grooming, and delivery ceremonies and communicate roadmap, trade-offs, and release plans to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in billing, payments, invoicing, or finance-related products in a tech or SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including revenue recognition, VAT/GST, and cross-border tax considerations.
  • Experience working with finance teams is essential.
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritizing backlogs in an agile environment.
  • Experience integrating with payment gateways, acquiring banks, and/or ERP/accounting systems (AP/AR) is highly desirable.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills and experience defining and tracking product metrics.
  • Excellent English communication skills with the ability to present complex trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused and pragmatic, with the ability to balance short-term operational needs and long-term platform stability and scalability.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
