Description

  • Prepare, process, and audit U.S. payroll accurately and on time in partnership with Finance and HR Operations.
  • Own multi-state payroll compliance, including tax registrations, unemployment accounts, SUI updates, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
  • Support international payroll coordination with the HR Operations team and in-country vendors.
  • Manage day-to-day U.S. benefits administration, including enrollments, life events, coverage troubleshooting, and employee questions.
  • Lead annual open enrollment, including system configuration in Rippling, communications, education sessions, enrollment support, and post-enrollment audits.
  • Conduct benefits audits, carrier reconciliations, eligibility checks, and billing reviews, and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Own the full leave administration lifecycle for U.S. and global leave programs, including intake, documentation, notices, pay coordination, and return-to-work planning.
  • Maintain accurate leave tracking and records in Rippling and coordinate notifications, approvals, and pay continuity with Finance and payroll.
  • Serve as a Rippling power user, maintain employee data accuracy, and support HRIS reporting, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Support recurring compliance activities, policy documentation, and employee communications related to benefits and leave.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in HR Operations with depth in U.S. payroll processing, benefits administration, and leave management.
  • Hands-on experience processing multi-state U.S. payroll end-to-end.
  • Hands-on experience administering FMLA, STD/LTD, parental leave, ADA accommodations, and state leave programs from intake through return to work.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. payroll law, multi-state tax compliance, and federal/state wage and hour requirements.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. leave law, including FMLA, ADA, USERRA, ADAAA, and key state programs such as CA, NY, WA, CO, and CT.
  • Some exposure to international leave and benefits frameworks in the UK, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, and the Netherlands preferred.
  • Experience with Rippling HRIS is required and must include daily, hands-on use.
  • Active use of AI tools to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Comfortable using Excel to pull reports, audit data, and catch discrepancies.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong empathy, sound judgment, high ownership, and the ability to handle confidential employee information.
  • Proactive about compliance and regulatory updates.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, or a similar certification is preferred.
  • Prior involvement in a payroll system implementation, benefits migration, open enrollment overhaul, or leave program build-out is preferred.
  • Preference for Austin, TX-based candidates or remote candidates working in the Central time zone.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Remote U.S.-based role, with the company not hiring candidates in AK, CA, HI, LA, MS, MT, NH, ND, OR, PA, RI, VT, WA, WV, or WY.
