Description

  • Drive technical discovery to uncover customer pain points, requirements, and business objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, architecture walkthroughs, and live demos of the Akuity Platform and GitOps practices.
  • Provide technical support to open-source users and enterprise customers through chat, GitHub, forums, and calls.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues involving Kubernetes, Argo CD, and the Akuity Platform.
  • Escalate customer issues to the product engineering team when appropriate.
  • Identify recurring customer issues and improve support playbooks, documentation, and internal knowledge bases.
  • Develop tooling, integrations, and automation to improve the customer experience and extend platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Sales to share customer feedback and influence the product roadmap.
  • Represent Akuity at conferences, webinars, and community events to support Argo adoption.
  • Contribute code directly to Argo CD and related open-source projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working at the intersection of development and operations in a DevOps or platform engineering role.
  • Deep hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production across AWS/EKS, GCP/GKE, Azure/AKS, and/or on-prem environments.
  • Professional experience with Argo CD, including patterns such as ApplicationSets, multi-cluster management, and advanced configuration.
  • Software engineering ability in Go, Rust, Java, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to contribute PRs and build or extend integrations and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps principles and patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Customer-first mindset with experience building trusted advisor relationships at the enterprise level.
  • Systems-thinking approach with the ability to identify root causes, anticipate issues, and design scalable solutions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and multiple competing priorities.
  • Nice to have: open-source maintainer or significant contributor experience, especially in Argo or the broader CNCF ecosystem.
  • Nice to have: experience with Argo Workflows, Argo Rollouts, or Argo Events.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, or OCI-based GitOps workflows.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of identity management, clustering, SSO, and enterprise security patterns such as RBAC and audit logging.
  • Nice to have: prior experience as a Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer at a cloud-native or developer tools company.
  • Nice to have: public-facing technical content such as conference talks, blog posts, or webinars.
  • Nice to have: bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
