Description

  • Lead technical design for medium-to-large full-stack features, documenting decisions and addressing edge cases and long-term maintainability.
  • Build and maintain TypeScript/Node.js microservices, event handlers, cron jobs, and React user interfaces for core financial flows.
  • Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools for development, testing, refactoring, debugging, and code review while validating output quality.
  • Own projects end-to-end, breaking complex work into actionable tasks and driving delivery from design through production deployment.
  • Write well-tested, maintainable code and conduct thorough code reviews, including reviews of AI-generated code.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and share practices for effective, responsible AI-tool usage.
  • Coordinate with other product pods and contribute to shared services when work spans service boundaries.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, lead incident response, and conduct post-incident reviews.
  • Identify and address technical debt while balancing delivery needs with long-term system health.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack development across backend services and frontend UIs.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for production services and React for production-facing user interfaces.
  • Experience designing and building REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and migrations.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging tools such as Kafka, SQS, or similar.
  • Experience working in a microservices environment.
  • Day-to-day experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar for coding, debugging, and code review.
  • Understanding of prompt/context engineering and the ability to validate AI-generated output appropriately.
  • Strong software design, error-handling, and testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Experience operating in cloud environments, preferably AWS, including deployments, logs, and basic infrastructure concepts.
  • Strong communication, ownership, collaboration, and technical judgment.
  • Experience building AI/LLM-powered product features, Kubernetes deployments, fintech or payments systems, GraphQL, CI/CD, observability tools, or engineering mentorship is preferred.
