Description

  • Own the CS Risk Appetite Framework, including guardrails, escalation triggers, and approved response actions.
  • Maintain and evolve the CS Risk Registry as a living strategic tool for prioritizing and tracking risk.
  • Develop and stress-test risk assessment standards, including KRIs, risk typologies, and emerging threat hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with Insider Threat Investigations to contextualize investigative outcomes and integrate them into risk governance.
  • Co-design escalation and review protocols for high-severity findings and non-compliant transactions.
  • Lead the end-to-end root cause resolution program from identification through verified closure.
  • Maintain a centralized tracker for systemic issues, remediation ownership, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Drive cross-functional remediation workstreams and hold owners accountable for progress and closure.
  • Craft executive-level risk narratives and reporting that translate data into decisions and trade-offs.
  • Serve as a risk steward for AI systems used in Community Support by evaluating governance implications and model risks.
  • Lead systemic risk reviews and ensure findings feed into remediation and risk framework updates.
  • Mentor junior team members and help build risk literacy through training and coaching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, governance, or operational risk.
  • Proven experience building and evolving risk frameworks, registries, and reporting programs.
  • Strong program management experience driving cross-functional remediation and root cause resolution to verified closure.
  • Experience collaborating with or providing strategic oversight to investigations teams.
  • Ability to evaluate and govern AI/ML systems from a risk perspective, including model assumptions, failure modes, bias risks, and human-in-the-loop governance.
  • Ability to synthesize ambiguous and conflicting information into clear risk narratives and executive recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills, including the ability to work without direct authority.
  • Experience with AI risk management frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, or EU AI Act compliance frameworks.
  • Experience developing fraud, safety, or insider threat risk frameworks, strategies, or operational models.
  • Experience with contact center operations, process design and optimization, customer support strategy, and/or quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with GRC platforms, risk management tools, case management systems, or investigation ticketing platforms.
  • US remote eligibility, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites; candidates must be located in an eligible state.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $156,000 to $193,000 USD.
  • Role may be eligible for bonus.

  • US remote eligible with occasional office or offsite attendance as needed.
