Description

  • Own and evolve AWS environments managed through CloudFormation infrastructure as code.
  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for safe, rapid production deployments.
  • Develop Datadog monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability signals.
  • Strengthen cloud security through IAM, least privilege, encryption, network controls, and SOC2-supporting practices.
  • Automate environment provisioning, deployments, and routine operational work.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response and postmortems, and implement preventative fixes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across containers, databases, and network paths.
  • Operate Amazon RDS SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL environments, including performance, capacity, backups, and upgrades.
  • Optimize platform cost, performance, and reliability as systems scale.
  • Collaborate with and mentor software engineers on platform usability and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience with deep hands-on AWS experience.
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for production systems; GitLab CI experience is preferred.
  • Experience with observability tools, ideally Datadog, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, including IAM, encryption, network design, and least-privilege practices; SOC2 or similar compliance experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating Docker container workloads on Amazon ECS/Fargate; Kubernetes experience is preferred.
  • Production experience with relational databases, ideally SQL Server and PostgreSQL on AWS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot live production incidents; Elixir/BEAM or JVM debugging experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language and modern AI development tools, with rigorous verification of delivered work.
  • Strong incident judgment, clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and willingness to participate in on-call support.
