Description

  • Complete accurate and efficient biweekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including employee data maintenance and payroll/financial reporting.
  • Process weekly payroll reporting, including hours calculations, missing punch resolution, staffing agency invoice review, and hours remittance.
  • Screen timecards for accuracy and compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Communicate with supervisors and employees to resolve payroll and timekeeping exceptions, edits, and accrual issues.
  • Collaborate with the Controller or Staff Accountant to secure payroll cash requirements and resolve general ledger exceptions.
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources on market compensation research, survey analysis, and report creation/presentation.
  • Work with the HRIS/payroll vendor to ensure timely and accurate payroll tax remittance and resolve tax-related errors.
  • Provide payroll, tax, and HRIS report information, instructions, training, and employee correspondence to employees, leaders, and executives.
  • Process voids, manual checks, payment adjustments, garnishments, and compliance off-cycle payments.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll deductions, overtime pay, garnishments, and employment verification requests.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of multi-state payroll tax processing and remittance experience.
  • Experience using a web-based HRIS/payroll platform.
  • Associate’s degree, or equivalent related work experience, in HR, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Willingness and ability to become proficient in Google Suite within 2 months of hire.
  • Preferred 5–7 years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Preferred 5–7 years of multi-state payroll tax processing and remittance experience.
  • Preferred experience using UKG HRIS/payroll platform.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree, or equivalent related work experience, in HR, Accounting, or Finance.
