Description

  • Build and maintain software applications across the enterprise product suite.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to define solutions for new problems.
  • Work with AI engineers to use commercial large language model APIs efficiently.
  • Improve code quality, extensibility, scalability, and test coverage across projects.
  • Make architecture and cloud engineering decisions with other engineers.
  • Develop and improve infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring and observability tools.
  • Enhance internal developer tools, workflows, and engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the full application stack.
  • Mentor junior team members and participate in incident response and disaster recovery efforts.
  • Provide feedback to management on team quality, tech stack health, and stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a tech lead, architecture lead, or management role.
  • Strong proficiency with Python in core application code.
  • Experience building modern cloud-native applications using serverless technologies such as API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with Git, relational databases, and data modeling, with Postgres preferred.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or SAM.
  • Experience with RESTful API design and documentation, CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, and containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker and ECS.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale cloud engineering in AWS and an agile product development environment.
  • Proficiency with AI tools in the software development lifecycle, such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot, and/or API integrations.
  • Preferred: interest in team leadership and career growth.
  • Preferred: experience building applications on top of LLMs using commercial APIs.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Postgres query optimization and indexing.
  • Preferred: exposure to Python data science tooling such as numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, and pandas.
  • Preferred: experience with monitoring and observability across deployments and tenants.
  • Preferred: interest in application security and cloud security.
