Description

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and connect it to business-impacting projects.
Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes that raise team effectiveness.
Own team operations and availability by implementing monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
Establish code review and design standards and promote a culture of quality and ownership across the team.
Mentor and develop engineers through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Help shape the evolution of systems to support new discovery paradigms, personalization, and experimentation.
Participate in an on-call rotation for the role.

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
Proficiency designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
Proficiency developing web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React, React Native, or Vue.
Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through a technical and execution plan.
Ability to write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
Comfort working in ambiguity and moving between language-level details and large-scale architecture.
Demonstrated ability to gather and iterate on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
On-call rotation is required.
Experience shaping long-term architectural direction and leading cross-team initiatives (preferred by role scope).

Base pay range of €101,000 - €131,000 per year.
