Description

  • Own the design, scalability, and reliability of build and pipeline systems across multiple services and platforms.
  • Optimize build times, test coverage, and reporting to provide fast and reliable feedback for developers.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes for CI systems to reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to support smooth integrations and deployment workflows.
  • Identify developer pain points and lead initiatives to improve productivity through tooling, automation, and best practices.
  • Evangelize CI/CD practices across the organization to improve engineering efficiency.
  • Contribute to the vision and strategy for continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure.
  • Lead and mentor other CI engineers while fostering ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to align CI systems with broader product and platform goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience driving and leading engineering efforts in CI, build systems, or developer productivity domains.
  • Strong background in modern build systems such as GitHub, Buildkite, Artifactory, or Bazel.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native environments such as AWS and Kubernetes, and with infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Solid programming background in Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar languages.
  • Ability to guide technical decision-making and balance long-term vision with short-term impact.
  • Experience managing build systems and frameworks for large monorepos; Bazel experience is preferred.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Active contribution to open source projects or experience at a leading tech company is a plus.
  • Passion for CI/CD and improving developer experience.
  • Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with willingness to use them to improve productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.

  • Base pay range of $225,000 to $275,000 per year for CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT; $200,000 to $250,000 per year for all other U.S. states.
