Description

  • Own and deliver quarterly team goals while guiding engineers through ambiguity and open-ended technical problems.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle, including ideation and trade-off discussions.
  • Identify project, process, technology, and business issues early and lead efforts to resolve them.
  • Support team operations and service availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call and maintenance work.
  • Set and improve code review and design standards, and advocate for quality practices through writing and tech talks.
  • Develop team talent by giving feedback, providing guidance, and leading by example.
  • Partner closely with European engineering counterparts and global Servicing Engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, or similar backend languages.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to building web apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, elegant, and extensible design.
  • Ability to make significant changes in a large codebase and use tools and practices to do so safely.
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and a habit of proactively seeking feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
