Description

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the underwriting and credit risk validation team.
  • Set the strategic direction for the underwriting and credit risk validation sector.
  • Perform independent validations of sophisticated machine learning models.
  • Evaluate conceptual soundness, data integrity, performance stability, and model accuracy through testing and review.
  • Monitor models continuously and track validation findings to resolution.
  • Identify model weaknesses and areas for improvement.
  • Partner with model owners and developers to remediate issues.
  • Help implement and refine the enterprise Model Risk Management framework.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Internal Controls, and Compliance to meet internal and regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of professional experience in a highly technical role such as model development, model validation, or quantitative analytics.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning modeling, underwriting, and credit risk management.
  • Advanced Python scripting skills.
  • Strong SQL skills for manipulating and analyzing large, complex datasets.
  • Proven experience hiring, managing, and mentoring quantitative teams.
  • Ability to move between strategic oversight and hands-on technical work.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
