Description

  • Support the EDI team in implementing and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange processes.
  • Ensure production EDI processes run with 100% uptime and meet or exceed SLA expectations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, EDI vendors, plan administrators, and external users to resolve issues and escalations.
  • Communicate EDI process status, issues, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor and help train other EDI Support Specialists.
  • Analyze existing products and processes and recommend improvements to EDI operations and workflows.
  • Maintain backup and redundancy plans to support stable operations during expected and unexpected changes.
  • Create and update documentation for EDI technologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Research emerging EDI technologies and recommend tools or process changes that improve efficiency and performance.
  • Perform QA testing on EDI processes and provide detailed feedback to file providers.
  • Manage EDI system administration tasks such as user setup, password management, and SFTP/file server directory configuration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience and knowledge.
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in EDI application interface development and maintaining EDI processes.
  • Strong familiarity with EDI terminology and formats, including ANSI X12, EDIFACT, 834, and HIPAA-compliant file formats.
  • General understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and SFTP.
  • Basic understanding of relational database structures and the ability to navigate and extract relevant data.
  • Ability to explain complex EDI processes clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
  • Solid understanding of the company’s business model, particularly healthcare plans and benefits administration.
  • Advanced attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities and accurate documentation.
  • Proven ability to independently prioritize work, solve problems, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client management and collaboration skills, including the ability to de-escalate difficult situations and support team concerns.
  • Proficiency with Gmail, Google Docs, and Microsoft Excel, plus experience with EDI comprehension and internet-based product navigation.
  • Familiarity with agile practices for managing EDI-related projects is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in EDI technology or process improvement are preferred.
